My grandson, Charlie Michael King, has not yet been entered into my journal and he is 3+ months old already. Born on the 23rd of July 2009 he entered my heart in a big way. Mike and I were able to get there when they induced Whitney's labor. The baby's heart beat dropped significantly and Whitney's body wasn't responding to the drugs - John, Amy, Mike and I got to watch the C-section on Whitney as they pushed and pulled little Charlie into the world.
He was a whopping 8.10 lbs. and 21" long. Head full of dark hair, thick eyebrows, fat cheeks and a hugely dimpled chin! What a keeper!!
We were able to spend 3 days in Utah when he was first born. It was a precious time. Whit, Cam and Charlie were still in the hospital when we left. Cam wouldn't leave except to get a nap. Whit and Cam were so great to let us hold him for long periods of time when we came to visit. And when it was time to go, it really did things to my heart. I was surprised at how attached and protective I felt of Charlie in such a short time. Miraculous that life happens so beautifully for us.
